Many pets find a visit to the clinic stressful, and anxiety can mask the very things a vet is looking for, making some conditions harder to spot. At home, your pet is relaxed and behaving normally. I can see how they actually move through their own space, the stiffness that only shows on their own floor, the habits and changes you live with every day. A calm, familiar setting often gives a clearer clinical picture.

A standard clinic appointment may be as short as ten minutes, which doesn't always allow time to work through every question and concern. My home visits usually run closer to forty-five – long enough to examine properly, and to actually talk. There's time to examine thoroughly, time for your pet to settle before I begin, time for the questions you've been meaning to ask, and time to talk through what we found and what happens next.
